    TITLE         -         EMPOWERED WOMEN NAVIGATING THE WORLD

    FOCUS        -         NAVIKA SAGAR PARAKRAMA PROJECT


INTRODUCTION

This lesson throws out light on the brave women crew of Tarini. They navigated the world proving women power.


PARAGRAPH

All women Indian Navy Crew who went round the world for 245 days all alone in a sail boat INSV Tarini. Tarini was built in India. Varthika Joshi circumnavigated the historical voyage.

               “INSV– Indian Naval Ship Vessel"

INSV was flagged off on sep 10th 2017 from Goa. It went round the globe in 254 days and returned on 21st May 2018. Thirty women had applied for the voyage. Six of them were short listed based on their survival skills. The crew was mentored by Commander Dilip Dande.         

        “  TARA TARINI – Named after TARINI TEMPLE ODISSA”

The crew had 3 years of training to get acquainted with sailing, repair & other emergency issues. The crew collaborated & worked together for success. The deep-sea voyage was really a challenge. The 254 days of exploring the world was a great mission in the Indian Navy history.  Prathiba, Swathi, Aishwarya,Vijaya Devi & Payal created history.

CONCLUSION

       Education and Reinforcement would be the key for a winning womanhood.
